Charter Fishing Kiawah
Started fishing an hour before low tide this morning in hopes of doing some sight fishing on the flats. Corby hooked up to his first redfish ever, pictured above, while casting to a school only feet from the boat. Fish continued to eat artificials throughout the morning. Finished the trip catching trout with D.O.A. shrimp under a floating cork.

Fishing Charters In Charleston, SC Jim and his six year old daughter, Emily, joined me for a children’s two hour charter today. Emily did a great job learning to cast different types of lures. When Dad did get a few casts in, he didĀ fine too and landed a fifteen pound redfish. Apparently, it’s in the genes!

Charleston SC Fishing
Fished today with Tim from Cape Hatteras, NC. Started the day with multiple sharks and his first redfish, a 6 pounder, on blue crab. Trying to focus on redfish we switched to artificials andĀ moved locations. We found a school of redfish all 10 pound plus and Tim was able to sight cast to the school. His first redfish was 12 pounds and pictured above. He then followed with a 15 pounder (biggest inshore redfish in the boat this year by weight) and a 13 pounder. Nice work, Tim.

Fly Fishing in Colorado and New Mexico

Fly Fishing in Colorado and New Mexico

Fly Fishing in Colorado and New MexicoSpent the last week fly fishing out West on the Chama river where it crossed the Colorado and New Mexico state line. Excellent fishing conditions this year as the snow melt runoff was less than usual and the water was clear and clean. Mostly catching brown and rainbow trout but would come across the occasional brook or cutthroat trout that had come from one of the neighboring lakes. Trout actively taking dry flies throughout the day with the real excitement coming in the late morning when they would begin to crush grasshopper patterns. The usual suspects worked for nymphing: prince and pheasant tail patterns. Great family trip.
